Gestational diabetes mellitus is glucose intolerance of varying degree with onset or first detection duringpregnancy,it can causelong and short term morbidities in both the mother child, such as shoulder dystocia,preeclampsia, high blood pressure. The most powerful endogenous vasoconstrictor peptide, urotensin II, andits receptor are involved etiology gestational mellitus.Aim study: study’s goal was to see if there a link between Urotensin II levels insulin resistancein pregnant women diabetes.Patients method: A case-control study that conducted obstetrics gynecology department atBaghdad Teaching hospital from January 2019 end December 2019. sample 80 pregnantwomen participated fulfilling inclusion criteria. 40 them diagnosed diabetesmellitus by (2 hours 75 gm. Oral tolerance test) control group.Results: mean age group 29.8±6.9 years 29.7±6.6years no significant differences. showed highly increase infasting Insulin, fasting bloodglucose, Homeostatic Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR), GDM than thegroup without disease. Significant difference found regarding high-sensitivity C-reactive protein hs-CRP(p=0.004). level subjects (109±33.22) increased thatin healthy (78±22.6).
